Legendary Wings :: composed by Tamayo Kawamoto (NES version arranged by Manami Matsumae)
Classic game, awesome soundtrack. One of the easier shoot 'em ups, imo.
Arcade version:

One of my all-time favorite video game fanfares:

There exists a number of differences between the two versions: the NES versions are sometimes truncated. Some songs in the arcade version are exclusive & vice versa.
NES version is definitely using the Mega Man 1 sound engine.
NES version of the palace music is cool as hell.
NES staff roll is one of the most gorgeous songs I've ever heard. I'm actually not sure if Kawamoto was involved with the NES version at all or if it was composed by Matsumae. It's not present in the arcade version.
The arcade ranking theme has a nice pomp & circumstance quality to it & is much more complex than the NES staff roll. I like it a lot, too.
