Re: How to write lyrics?!! (Help)..
I'm going to write lyrics. (I have no idea what I'm doing)
Verse:
Moons everywhere.
Moons Everywhere.
Baskets of easter eggs.
It's not Easter. X 2
Pre Chorus:
You know it's not Easter
Dance the Latin tango
My dog is named bojangles
BOJANGLES!!! X 2
Chorus:
Your moon is rising
Your moon is crying
Your moon is drying
Drying, Drying, Drying, Drying my eyes
AT NIGHT! X4
Verse 2:
Animals are alive
Your are alive
Touch the sky
Tonight we bleed at midnight
MIDNIGHT X4
Chorus:
Your moon is rising
Your moon is crying
Your moon is drying my eyes
Your moon is visible at night
AT NIGHT! X4
:Explosion sound:
*vanilla ice 90s rap style*
Hello my name is joe
you are what you know
tonight I saw a bunch of breasts
put yo' head on yo' pillow to make it rest
enlighten the world with spaghetti
touch my toes and make me ready
pray to Krishna and listen to kevin moore
*end rap*
Power metal chorus:
Chorus: X8
:
Your moon is rising
Your moon is crying
Your moon is drying my eyes
Your moon is visible at night
AT NIGHT!

Aber doch! Sehr gut my boy! Do you maybe like cloth-pegs? A little advice to you from a musiclyricperson! Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and do it!!!Because what the world needs is people who have come alive. I am sure it was a German who said this first. Maybe A. Fitler...

Anyway, back to titles for a song: Strato totally proved us you actually don't need to think the title before the acutal lyrics; that's how we would explain "No Return" turned into "Event Horizon" and "Heavenly Divine" into "Fairness Justified"

Re: How to write lyrics?!! (Help)..
A lot of bands do it that way, sometimes it just makes sense to change the title because maybe the lyrics went a different way then intended.

True...Although "Heavenly Divine" suited more than what it's now "Fairnes Justified"

Re: How to write lyrics?!! (Help)..
Obviously the band thought differently.
As I said though it's not uncommon, hell sometimes I've changed titles because I felt that the previous one wasn't that good.

Re: How to write lyrics?!! (Help)..
but then there would be millions of track 1, track 2 type things and how would you keep track of that? plus when you do a new album what would you call the tracks then?

OK, let's go on. I always wondered, as I am not a composer of music just lyrics from time to time: How does people decide weather a lyric is best suited with a fast or slow tempo?

Re: How to write lyrics?!! (Help)..
Well most of the time, at least from my experience the melody comes first and then the lyrics.
However I have seen exceptions where the lyrics come first and then the melody is written around it, it is all dependent on the composer and their way of doing things.
